How we work it out

  • Yearly profit = (monthly revenue minus monthly costs) × 12. Leave your own pay out of costs. For a one-person business that's close to what brokers call SDE.
  • Your health score (0 to 100) weighs profit margin (25), growth over 6 months (20), monthly churn (20, subscriptions only), your hours a week (15), age (10) and whether it makes money at all (10).
  • Churn only counts for subscription apps. For in-app purchases and ads, the score uses the other five factors.
  • Platform doesn't change the price, since no sales report splits iOS from Android. It only changes your card.
  • Score 0 sits at about 2x yearly profit (Empire Flippers' average), score 50 at the average for your type, score 100 at the top quarter.
  • Your range is the multiple 15 points below and above your score, times your yearly profit.
  • What pulls you down: churn over 7% a month, under 12 months old, over 30 hours a week, and a thin margin.
  • Losing money? Buyers price on profit, so we show up to 1x yearly revenue, the bottom of Acquire.com's 1x to 3x guide.
  • Making $0? There's no sales data for that, so we don't invent a price. We show what it'd be worth at $1,000 MRR with your current costs, using Flippa's $10k to $100k deals.
  • The grade uses the same score: A+ from 85, A from 72, B from 58, C from 44, D from 30, F below 30. The company is for fun.

Not financial advice. A real price comes from a real buyer.

Questions founders ask

How much can I sell my app for?

About 2.6x a year of profit, and up to 5.5x for a strong one. Apps sold on Flippa in the first half of 2026 averaged 2.62x and the top quarter got 5.46x. An app keeping $1,000 a month is worth about $31k at the average.

Where can I sell my app?

Flippa, Acquire.com and Empire Flippers all sell apps and publish what deals went for. Flippa had the app numbers this tool uses. Have 12 months of revenue screenshots from App Store Connect or Google Play ready before you list.

Are apps worth more than SaaS?

A bit, on Flippa's numbers. Apps averaged 2.62x a year's profit in the first half of 2026 against 2.47x for SaaS, and the top quarter of apps got 5.46x against 4.06x.

Is an ad-supported app worth less than a subscription app?

We don't know of a sales report that splits app prices by revenue type, so we don't guess. Buyers look at the same two things either way: a year of profit, and whether it's growing.

Does my app's churn matter to a buyer?

Yes, for subscriptions. FE International discounts anything over 7% a month, and we start pulling your range down from there. A buyer is paying for the subscribers you'll still have next year.
